Behind the scenes of Poinçon 22 - The Baptism medal

We tell you all about the Baptism collection

The christening medal is traditionally the godparent's gift to the child at the time of his or her sacrament. A gold jewel, usually round and with a religious symbol, it can also be illustrated with other designs for civil christenings, for example. This christening gift symbolizes the bond between the child and the people who gave it to him or her. It's a jewel for life, with emotional power that lasts a lifetime.

Our christening collection features religious symbols such as the Virgin Mary, or the angel Raphael, symbolizing the link with God. Designed by the designer, Poinçon 22 medals are crafted by the finest jewelers.

These medals are jewels that go beyond baptism, and can be personalized to make them unique. Poinçon 22 offers made-to-measure jewelry services to create one-of-a-kind pieces that will make lasting, timeless baptism gifts. Their different shapes and designs make them exceptional creations, with multiple combinations and symbols. We'll tell you all about it!

LA COLOMBE

The Colombe medal was hand-drawn by the designer and then immortalized on the medal by the jewelry craftsmen.

The designer was inspired by Picasso's blue Dove for its finesse, modernity and flight. She then associated it with a powerful symbol: the ear of wheat.

Wheat represents luck and abundance, while the dove is the symbol of love, peace and freedom.

THE "ANGE RAPHAEL"

Theangel Raphael is one of the seven archangels close to God. Both guardian and patron of travelers on land, sea and in the air, the Raphael angel accompanies and reassures.
Angels are considered in religion to be the interface between heaven and earth, and are therefore symbolized as guides for mankind.

Blending tradition and modernity, this medal was designed by the creator, then finely engraved by jewelry artisans. Rays, representing light, were drawn and engraved around the angel, like the angel's halo. The Raphaël angel medal is traditionally offered in a round format, but also in an octagonal version for a more art deco christening gift.
