Nuances is an emblematic collection from the Maison. Notable for its colored gemstones, these jewels with their play of color, transparency and brilliance are revealed by the gold pearls associated with them.

Malachite, mother-of-pearl, lapis lazuli, onyx, carnelian, pink opal and now turquoise, you're sure to find the stone that suits you, that moves you and that will accompany you every day in the form of a ring, bracelet or necklace.

This latest color in the collection is highly appreciated for its history, its virtues and its summery hues.

Turquoise and its history

The oldest turquoise was discovered during archaeological excavations in the tomb of the queen of the first Egyptian dynasty. The stone, on a bracelet, dates back to 6000 B.C. and served as protection for Queen Zar.

Alongside amethyst, lapis lazuli and carnelian, turquoise was also used to set Tutankhamen's sarcophagus. The blue stone was frequently used in Egyptian times as a sign of protection.

It was later appreciated for its medicinal virtues in Asia, notably in Tibet and India. The stone was also quickly adopted in jewelry, for turquoise rings and pendants.

Turquoise and its shades

Turquoise's appealing blue-green hues are reminiscent of both the sky and the transparent waters of lagoons. Depending on its origin and composition, the color of the stone varies from blue to green.

Stones from deposits in Iran are more bluish in color, while stones from Egypt, for example, are more green.

This phenomenon is due to the different geological and meteorological conditions of the deposits, which have an impact on the composition of turquoise stones.

Caring for your turquoise jewelry

Turquoise is a stone that requires care. As it is an organic material, we advise against immersing your turquoise jewelry in liquid or water. The jewel could lose its color as well as its light. As with all your jewelry, we also advise you to avoid contact with chemical and toxic products such as perfume, cosmetics and cleaning products.

To brighten up your turquoise jewelry, gently rub your bracelet, ring or medal with a damp cloth or chamois.
