KEY TRENDS

This year, minimalism and nature are at the heart of all desires, curly wool, wood, crafts and slow deco, we reveal the must-haves for 2021.

SLOW DECO MAKES ITS MARK

Slow deco or slow design is more an awareness than a trend that is increasingly making its way into our homes. It's a movement that has been seen a lot in fashion and is now spreading everywhere: adopting a more responsible and committed approach to consumption. It's all about choosing second-hand decorative objects and promoting craftsmanship. A trend that encourages us to consume less, but better, by preferring a unique handmade piece made from recycled materials, for example. Or use objects that have already had a first life elsewhere, perfectly in line with the vintage trend of the moment!

HARMONY BETWEEN NATURE AND SIMPLICITY

Alongside slow deco, we all feel the need for nature. As the health crisis has turned everything upside down, it has also affected the world of decoration. Two desires stand out: we need simplicity and green. Interiors are filled with natural materials, raw wood, wool and plants, transforming living spaces into organic bubbles. Our need for space means we're opting for minimalism and authenticity to furnish rooms we can enjoy to the full.

THE COLORS OF THE YEAR

First and foremost, we go for brown shades, colors with character that are both warm and simple to combine. Don't hesitate to copy different types of wood, from the lightest to the darkest, combined with texture for a resolutely purist finish.

We also love the luminous nuances mineral shades that give our interiors a breath of fresh air. And to contrast with these natural hues, opt for warm colors like pink and yellow. Your interior will come alive.

Precious colors are also making a comeback. From finishes to decorative objects, gold, silver and copper are taking over our walls and furniture with a modern twist. An inspiration of the precious, which goes even further this year to welcome (to our delight) fine stones. The elegance of onyx, the transparency of carnelian or the reflections of mother-of-pearl, anything goes to add an original touch to your home.

So go ahead and combine natural nuances with warm colors, to flood your interiors with light and reflections.

FOCUS ON MATERIALS

Wicker, rattan and stone: natural materials are still making a name for themselves, and we never intend to let them leave our homes. An elegant blend of simplicity and rusticity, they allow us to safely arrange touches of color alongside authentic materials, a delight for the eyes. When decoration meets ecology, an aesthetic fusion is created.

Whether for small touches or imposing furnishings, if there's one material to remember, it's curly wool! First spotted in fashion, it continues its journey into decorating, much to our delight. A material that's comforting, warm and fluffy, it's a cocoon for curling up in this winter. It also has the advantage of being hardwearing, so it'll keep its curly look for a long time to come! It can be found on seats, cushions, armchairs and sofas, but not only: it can also be found on rugs and plaids.

Our favorite piece? The iconic armchair designed by Pierre Paulin.

THE FURNITURE THAT MAKES US DREAM

The natural look of colors and materials evokes a need for ecology and nature, but also a need to soothe oneself from external torments. So we turn to rounded lines, which also have the advantage of facilitating circulation in tight spaces. Our inspiration? The pebble, a soft shape that reminds us of long walks on the beach or in the mountains.

Art takes its place alongside nature, and everyday objects are transformed into totemic sculptures. From lamps to candleholders, sculptural forms seduce us as they bring the perfect contemporary touch to the middle of our rooms. Combining spirituality and art, the works stand out from the walls and are transformed into everyday objects. With the increase in teleworking and the current crisis, decorative objects are becoming functional - we love it!

Roundness is the name of the game, and its softness soothes our daily lives. We're seduced by this trend, aren't you?
