Discovering unisex luxury

In recent years, luxury brands have been offering collections that can be worn by everyone, men and women. In 2015, the Selfridges department store in London chose to devote three floors to unisex fashion, underlining the scope of this new trend. All luxury sectors are concerned. From fashion to perfume to jewellery, forget about gender restrictions and stereotypes and shop in every section!

In this article, Poinçon 22 presents a few mixed-race pieces from houses that have chosen to go unisex.

The unisex fashion trend

It is the fashion sector that has given the main impetus to this trend of non-generic luxury. In 2020, Maison Gucci launched the MX project, a clothing and accessories collection worn by everyone.

The runway shows at the latest Paris Fashion Week prove that the boundaries between feminine and masculine are gradually becoming finer and finer. With women having long since appropriated men's wardrobes, so-called feminine garments are now showcased on men. A case in point is the Raf Simons show, with skirts for everyone and a collection intended to be completely mixed. Plunging necklines and fluid or transparent textures were also on show at Balmain.

The unisex trend in perfumery

The popularity of unisex fragrances continues to grow. Many fragrances can now be worn by everyone. Some have been developed specifically for this purpose, like Zadig & Voltaire's This is Us! fragrance. More and more fragrances simply don't have a specific label.

This is the case for several Guerlain fragrances, including those in the "Les Absolus d'Orient" collection , presented as suitable for both men and women.

The unisex jewelry trend

In the past, jewelry was mainly designed for women, but now there are no gender limits. Jewelry, too, is becoming a piece that can be worn by everyone, according to their tastes.

Some brands choose to present their iconic collections on men. This is particularly true of Cartier, with its unmissable Juste un Clou collection, now worn by both men and women.

Louis Vuitton's jewelry department has chosen to create LV Volt, a collection of jewelry inspired by the house's initials, intended to be graphic and unisex.

Working around structured and pure lines, Poinçon 22 has also developed unisex products suitable for both women and men. This is the case of the Maillons cord bracelet in 18K gold, a bracelet composed of two full links hammered by our jewelers and placed on a thin or thick cord according to your tastes.
